Yet another maintenance session has come to a close, hopefully it didn’t disrupt too many of you and to those that did notice the maintenance I hope you enjoyed the maintenance boards. Hopefully the transition between using the forums & the maintenance forums wasn’t too noticeable or inconvenient for you all. For those of you who missed the maintenance boards and are nosey, you really didn’t miss anything the boards are now hosted as a subforum (maintenance.schola-draiochta.com) and are only accessible when the main site is in maintenance and the only credible deference between the two forums besides the URL is the maintenance forums do not have Wordpress or Wikipedia integrated, otherwise you’d be non the wiser. All features have now been re-enabled and the software that runs this site has now been upgraded to their latests versions meaning we can all relax and enjoy a slightly speedier service as well as greatly increased security.
With the upgrade from phpbb3 (3.0.5) to (3.0.6) we also gained a new feature that came bundled with the software, for those of you who user e-readers you can now get updates when certain forums have been posted in. I’ve currently got it configured to show the latest 10 updates overall in all the forums except the archives. This may change however as Procellifer tweaks the settings to something that would be more beneficial to the site. For those of you who would like to subscribe to our feed the link is – http://www.schola-draiochta.com/feed.php
In addition to the maintenance I have also give a few forum icons a makeover, hopefully they shouldn’t be too noticeable
As with any upgrade to the software there is always a slim chance that a few bugs could have made their way into our systems, so as always if you spot an error message anywhere or a bit of the site that isn’t acting like it should then post a Bug Report over in the Bug Topic or alternatively if you can not access the bug forum you can also email me.
And that just about wraps up another Maintenance Session. So until next time take care and continue to use & enjoy The Schola,
Garrick Keigwin
